Drexel University offers a professional certificate in Competitive Intelligence (CI) completely online. The goals of the certificate are to prepare participants to facilitate and coordinate the functional aspects of acquisition, analysis, delivery and protection of actionable intelligence to support your organization's strategic objectives. Participants learn to analyze a situation and prioritize components of the problem, prioritize the work products to meet organizational needs, acquire appropriate data and identify the best techniques for the most cost-effective efforts possible, develop evidence-backed analysis and recommendations, present findings and recommendations in an effective manner to the target audience.
This graduate-level certificate program consists of three ten-week modules (one academic year). Fees: $2,275per each 10-week module; includes all materials and use of the College's CI software and systems. There is a credit and noncredit option for this certificate.

For some students, this is the first time they are introduced to non- quantitative research disciplines and techniques. Mercyhurst's Research/Intelligence Analyst Program major is "... designed to provide the necessary background for students to pursue careers as research and/or intelligence analysts in government agencies and private enterprises. Simmons College
Over twenty courses applicable toward a 36-credit master's degree in competitive intelligence, an 18-credit post-master's certificate in competitive intelligence, or taken for non-credit as executive/continuing education. Each course, held over a three-day period (Thursday through Saturday formats), plus assignments, earns two-credits. Individual advisement provided to ensure students will enroll in the appropriate courses to benefit their career.
Admissions for master's and post-master's students requires standard admission process and, at least one year of corporate work experience (see their website www.cic.simmons.edu ). Executive education applicants should be employed in the competitive intelligence field. Each course costs $1,326 and must be taken on-location (distance/online education should be available by mid-May, 2002).

Trinity's 'Certificate Program in Global Competitive Intelligence' is a non-degree program for both post-graduate and advanced undergraduate students seeking professional training in an emerging and highly competitive field. The program emphasizes global competitive intelligence for individuals already working internationally active non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and businesses and for those exploring a career in this field.
12 credits of coursework and a three-credit practicum capstone required for program completion. Advanced undergraduate students must also complete a three credit supervised internship. Graduate course in Competitive Intelligence (course BSEO 2525). Competitive intelligence is both a process and product. An effective competitive intelligence program (CIP) is one of the foundations on which strategies and tactics are built, assessed and modified. This course focuses on how to design a CIP and produce actionable intelligence. Methods of intelligence collection, analysis, dissemination, and counterintelligence are framed within a global context.
